The Ukrainian Red Cross joined the response to the aftermath of Russian strikes on Sumy. The organisation's rapid response unit worked at the scene alongside other emergency services.
Volunteers surveyed the area and provided first aid to those affected. One of the injured was taken to hospital for the necessary medical care. Volunteers also helped transport the deceased.
According to Ukraine's State Emergency Service (DSNS), on 27 September Russian forces carried out three strikes with guided aerial bombs (KABs) on one of the districts of Sumy. Two people were killed in the attack.
