Russian drones damage energy infrastructure near Zaporizhzhia NPP
Russian drone strikes damaged transformers at the Zaporizhzhia Thermal Power Plant that supplied electricity to the nuclear power plant. An external radiation monitoring station was also put out of operation. One nuclear plant worker was killed.
Russian drones struck energy infrastructure near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. On September 19, 20, and 27, drones hit transformers at the nearby Zaporizhzhia Thermal Power Plant, which supplied electricity to the nuclear station.
On September 22, Russian forces put an external radiation monitoring station out of operation, reducing the ability to monitor radiation levels near the facility.
As a result of the strikes, one person — an employee of the nuclear power plant — was killed.
