According to the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, the reactor itself and its safety systems were not damaged. A fire that broke out as a result of the strike was quickly extinguished.
Specialists recorded no changes in radiation levels, with readings remaining within natural background levels. No casualties were reported.
