96% of Russian-struck targets in Kyiv region in September were civilian

In September 2026, Russian forces carried out 168 strikes on targets in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. According to the calculations of French OSINT analyst Clément Molin, the vast majority of affected targets had civilian purposes.

The most frequently attacked targets were logistics warehouses, mostly civilian, with 72 cases, accounting for 43% of the total. Strikes on residential buildings were also recorded, with 16 cases, and on civilian buildings hit by debris, with 14 cases.

Other affected targets included oil and fuel infrastructure facilities (13 cases), industrial facilities (12), critical infrastructure, including data processing centres (11), railway facilities (8), as well as a school and a medical facility.

Only 7 of the 168 affected targets had a military purpose, such as air bases or other military facilities. Another 6 targets remained unidentified. According to the analyst's estimates, the share of civilian targets among all those struck ranged from over 90% to 96%.
